Document Sale Terms
These terms apply when you purchase an NFA trust document from Russ Roby Law, PLLC. Please read them carefully before buying — completing a purchase means you agree to them.
The Bottom Line
Buying a Document Is Not Hiring a Lawyer
An NFA trust purchased here is a self-help legal document, not legal representation. Buying it does not make Russell Roby your attorney, and no attorney-client relationship arises from a purchase. Outside Maryland, documents are sold as a document-only product and are not legal advice for your state. For advice about your specific situation, consult an attorney licensed in your jurisdiction.
What You Are Purchasing
When you purchase an NFA trust document from this firm, you are buying a written legal document template — not legal representation. The product is a self-help document delivered to you by mail or digital download. Except where a separate written engagement agreement expressly provides otherwise (currently available only to Maryland clients), your purchase does not include legal advice, ongoing attorney services, review of your individual circumstances, or representation in any matter.
No Attorney-Client Relationship from a Purchase
Purchasing a document does not make Russell Roby your lawyer and does not create an attorney-client relationship. No such relationship arises from buying, downloading, or using a trust document sold on this site. An attorney-client relationship is formed only through a separate written engagement agreement signed by both you and Russell Roby. Until that occurs, communications related to your purchase are not protected by attorney-client privilege.
Sold Outside Maryland as a Document Only
Russell Roby is licensed to practice law only in the State of Maryland. NFA trust documents sold to clients outside Maryland are provided strictly as document-only products, consistent with bar admission rules. For non-Maryland purchasers, this firm does not provide legal advice regarding the laws of your state, does not represent you, and does not form an attorney-client relationship. Any document content referencing states other than Maryland is general in nature and is not legal advice for those jurisdictions. If you need legal advice about NFA ownership, trusts, or estate planning in your state, consult an attorney licensed there.
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for determining whether an NFA trust is appropriate for your situation, for ensuring the document meets the requirements of your state, and for properly completing, signing, funding, and (where applicable) filing your trust and any related ATF forms. Possession and transfer of NFA-regulated items are governed by federal law and by the laws of your state and locality, which vary and change. You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws. This firm does not file ATF forms on your behalf as part of a document purchase.
No Legal Advice; Not a Substitute for an Attorney
The documents and any accompanying materials are provided for general use and do not constitute legal advice. They are not a substitute for the advice of an attorney licensed in your jurisdiction who has reviewed your specific circumstances. If your situation is complex — for example, involving significant assets, multiple beneficiaries, cross-state issues, or prior legal complications — you should seek individualized legal counsel before relying on a self-help document.
No Guaranteed Outcomes
Nothing about a document purchase guarantees ATF approval, a specific processing time, or any other legal or administrative result. ATF adjudication and processing are outside the control of this firm. Prior results do not guarantee or predict future outcomes.
Refund Policy
Because digital trust documents are delivered instantly and cannot be returned once downloaded, all sales of digital download products are final and non-refundable once the document has been downloaded. For mail-order documents, if you have not yet received your document you may request cancellation by emailing RussRoby@russrobylaw.com; once a mail-order document has been prepared or shipped, it is non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error or experienced a technical problem with delivery, contact RussRoby@russrobylaw.com and the matter will be addressed in good faith.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Russ Roby Law, PLLC and Russell Roby will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your purchase or use of any document, including but not limited to damages for lost profits, denied or delayed ATF applications, or legal consequences resulting from your use, completion, or filing of the document. To the fullest extent permitted by law, total liability for any claim arising out of or related to a document purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for that document. Documents are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, except as required by applicable law.
Acceptance of These Terms
By purchasing a document from this site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Document Sale Terms, including the statements that your purchase is not legal representation, that no attorney-client relationship arises from a purchase, and that documents sold outside Maryland are document-only products. If you do not agree to these terms, do not complete a purchase.
